Jade Body Qigong with Master Liu He – Seattle

April 8, 2017 @ 1:30 pm - April 9, 2017 @ 3:30 pm

According to the Nei Jing (The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine), “hundreds of illnesses come from damage to the spine.” Exercising the spine promotes good health and the recovery of health when diseases are present. Modern science has also proven that to exercise the spine can improve metabolism and improve the immune system.

Liu Dong recognized the importance of a qigong form that focused on the spine. Having for a long time closely observed the longevity of animals such as turtles, cranes and the dragon family, as well as their habits and habitats, their movements and their breathing, etc., he found that they have one thing in common: they all move their spines frequently. So, with the help of the universe and his grandfather’s teachings, he designed Jade Body Qigong to imitate the way they move their spines and the way they breathe – creating the stretch – hold still – relax movement patterns. These patterns form the core of Jade Body Qigong and have proven beneficial to many, many people who have practiced the form.

The form is called Jade Body because it is a cleansing form and jade is thought to be the purist thing. If your body and mind are as pure as jade, then you are in harmony with the Universe.

Jade Body Qigong brings the same focus and treatment to the human spine. By doing movements that stretch, hold still, and relax the spine, circulation of Qi and blood on the back and around the spine is increased. Good circulation boosts the immune system, which, in turn helps the whole body to ward off many diseases, especially cancer.

Jade Body Qigong also offers a way cultivate the heart and nature. Besides doing the sitting meditation, the mind work, the breathing methods, and guiding the qi, the Jade Body practitioner can transcend and be free from all the obsessed ways or rigid forms and work directly on the deepest part in the heart.
